(Very) Stylish Homes: Courtney Cox's Malibu retreat

The Elle Decor article begins: "Before becoming an actress, Courteney Cox wanted to be an architect." And it's certainly evident in what is undoubtedly one of my favourite celebrity homes to date.

(above) The full article appeared in the July/August 2011 issue of Elle Decor - read it here. It's a little bit masculine, surprisingly earthy and sophisticated to boot. Simply breathtaking. Take a look:

If I was building or renovating a house tomorrow (oh wait, we are!), this feature would be my complete and ultimate inspiration file. I think it's perfect. Looking forward to seeing this issue in my mailbox any day now! PS Huge thanks to fellow blogger Nicole of First House on the Right for the tip off!

  1. It is a stunning home Louise. I love that charcoal colour palette with pops of colour. There is so much to go back and look at again. Think I could move in right away. I think architecture might have been a great fall back career for her!

  2. Love, love, love it! I had seen it in Elle and also wanted to post about it, you've beat me to it :)
I was happily surprised to see the sophistication and chicness of every single detail.
Thanks for sharing it with the rest us design enthusiasts. Great ideas to take from here.

  3. That is pretty sensational and not what I would have expected at all. Great art. And now it comes without badly dressed slightly weird husband! xo

  4. I have loved Courtney's other two houses that were featured in IN STYLE and I can't remember the other one but she certainly has good taste and knows her own aesthetic. Thanks for the post!!

  5. Love her house

  6. I would trade my whole house for that fire pit outdoor area!

  7. OMG I am so getting myself an oversized Penguin Book's cover of a similar vein to hers. Love it.

  8. Gosh her house is stunning! And those views...lucky lady :) Abbey x

  9. What must it be like to have that much money?
I've spent a fair bit of time in Malibu, and those houses are quite something (from the outside, at least...)
Thanks L, something ELSE to covet.
