Our house: Louvres and lights!

You know you've made a good design decision when something looks like it's been there the whole time. It's a perfect fit. It just feels... right. Which is how we feel about the new additions to the dining room!! (Please excuse the mess, but I just couldn't wait until Monday to show you). So, we now have a vintage Louis Poulsen pendant above the dining table and the "ball lights" have been moved to the kitchen (no more fluorescent glow yay!) and replaced with energy efficient downlights. The louvres are in too, with Mr Tonic and I spending the better part of the morning edging that enormous frame into place! It's damn heavy, but was an absolute perfect fit. Ta-daaaaa!

  6. Looks great! I love how you are renovating in keeping with the existing building and staying true to the 50s style. The louvers are great and you'll love the cross breeze in summer.

  12. Louise, you home is coming together SO WELL!
As a Dane I can't help but to be partial to the LP Lamp, just PERFECTION!!!

In regards to the louvered windows... It's so interesting that you are putting them in, and everyone here (South Florida) is removing them, as they are unsafe in hurricane prone regions. I like the way they look, and in your home... it looks great! GOOD JOB :)
