The Kips Bay Decorator Show House: Room by Room

I was alerted to the following article by the lovely Rauber sisters, Janet and Carolina of Rauber + Rauber Interiors (I interviewed them back here), who were fortunate enough to have been given the incredible opportunity of decorating a room in the coveted Kips Bay Decorator Show House. 21 designers took part all up, and the results are wildly dynamic, to put it mildly! This is the 39th "Annual Decorator Show House", which took up residence in an Upper East Side mansion, 163 East 63rd Street, from April 28 – May 26, 2011. The neo-Federalist style mansion residence boasts unique historic details amongst it's (wait for it) 16 rooms, four stories and 10,000-square-feet. Looking for decorating inspiration? Feast your peepers on this:

  1. Wow they are all amazing, can't tell you which I love best as they are all too different. I love something in each of them. OK maybe I lean towards the 2nd image as I love books & I am currently creating a small home library in a spare room at home.

  2. My favourite is the Brad Ford room with that wonderful linen sofa and all the cosy finishes. {Maybe that's because it is suddenly winter???)

  3. Wow- I've GOT to go to this! Thanks for the heads up. Following you! xo http://dressmeup-dressmedown.blogspot.com/

  4. Love the dining room with those crazy gold rimmed chairs and glossy black table. Also love the Brad Ford room - just want to curl up on that linen sofa and have a nice cup of tea!

  5. Brad Ford was a favorite of mine as well! Check out my mini rounds up here. My designers loved his music selection...he had out records from Radiohead and Fleet Foxes. Nice touch!

Thanks for stopping by, I'd love to hear your thoughts!
