I hope you don't mind, but it's rather hard to resist blogging about anything other than this very exciting new chapter of our little lives right now. And I'm not sure about you, but I'm a huge fan of a creative journey, a before and after, a "reveal"! And between Mr Tonic begging me to help him paint and the Mini Tonics being on school holidays, finding the time to do anything at the moment is a challenge. But here are a few more snaps of the house we fall more and more in love with every day:
(above) We have yet to hang any of our art, despite there being, on average, 17 hooks on every wall!? So for now, it lives against the wall in the dining room. It's strange, but there isn't actually a great deal of "wall" in this house. There's just so much fantastic glass - I'm feeling a gallery wall coming on...
(above) Everybody's favourite, the blue chairs. For now, they sit in a wide corridor, linking the dining room at the front of the house to the living room at the back. Audrey has swiftly claimed this as her top spot for a nap. PS That artwork is one of Mr Tonic's birthday presents - an aboriginal painting which is quite incredible close up. We're going to relocate it to our bedroom, as it "floats" a bit on that wall (my pet decor hate!), but I'm thinking that could be a fine spot for the (aforementioned) gallery wall.
(above) The living room is scrubbing up beautifully! It's white all the way, and Mr Tonic will shortly embark on a journey involving the floor and a huge can of white paving paint. Cheaper than both polishing the concrete and laying floorboards, and just quietly, I think it's going to look rather amazing. The new couch arrives next Tuesday too. It's all coming together!
(above) Where there is a mini photoshoot, there is a Mini Tonic. Or two.
Happy New year ..your home is looking beautiful..i love the before and after reveals too cant wait to see more xx
