For years, I have admired this beautifully simple, black and white rug in virtually every hot international decor magazine. The perfect, oh-so-graphic way to stick a rocket up any room. But where to find it for (almost) a song?

And loathed as I am to endorse (or should I say, "condone") Ikea for reasons that involve heavy use of the word "landfill", this one actually looks "do-able" - The Ikea "Stockholm Rand" flatwoven rug. $249 (170 x 240cm), $449 (250 x 350cm). Admittedly, I have yet to see it in the flesh, but I'm guessing it's hard to eff up a rug too badly, right? Do any of you have the Ikea version? Spill!

ReplyDeleteHanging out for one of these. My friend Emma rang our local ikea, apparently we have to wait a couple of more months for it, but the eastern states ikea's are getting it sooner.
I have the larger size of this Ikea rug in my Bedroom.Amazing!!! Very hard to find though and has not been in stock for months otherwise I may well have bought another.

I would LOVE to buy this rug, but having bought 2 rugs from Ikea previously, I'm curious to find out from those who already have this rug how long they've had it, how it is wearing and is it in a high traffic area? My 2 previous Ikea rugs looked great .... for about 6-8 months, tops! I swore I'd never buy another rug from Ikea EVER again, but I too have admired this style of rug for ages and am soooooo tempted. Any info on how this rug has worn over time would be greatly appreciated.
