I've always been a firm believer in the accessory, or rather, it's significant role as an (often affordable) instant "updater". The same way a new belt or handbag can breathe life into an old outfit, so too can items such a cushions, lamps and, in this case, towels when it comes to your home. I recently spent around $100 on 3 new Esprit towels and a bathmat (on sale from My House) for our bathrooms. Both of them are very monochromatic, which is the best descision we ever made. What it means, is the look of the room changes drastically with only the smallest tweak. Exhibit A (aka "Husband's Bathroom"):
(above) I chose lime for Mr Bell.
(below) Exhibit B (aka "My/Jasper/Anoushka's Bathroom"), which now has a bit of a margarine thing going on, largely due to the stool (eBay) I painted a few weeks back. And the duckie. Which I didn't paint.
