Budget DIY of the day: Gorgeous gift wrap

I don't know about you, but I just loathe buying wrapping paper. Like we need another reason for paper to be produced, paid for and thrown straight in the bin. And most often you'll find the recipient wouldn't actually care if a present was wrapped in, well, newspaper. Which brings me to a genius post I found on trail of inspiration by the gorgeous Lulu. So clever. So creative. Read the original post here. PS And just think, you'll be recycling at the same time.

  1. I love this idea, also putting gifts in a brown paper bag, cutting out a pretty picture from a magazine, pasting it on the front and finishing it off with a bit of ribbon :-)

  2. This reminds me of a friend of mine, whose mother-in-law always without fail, wraps part of her gift with newspaper. It irks her no end! I'll have to show her this :)

  4. Louise...I remember one year growing up, for Christmas my mother wrapped all the presents in newspaper print, but not just your normal newspaper... In Denmark, at least back then, the financial section of the paper was printed on pale pink paper, that's what she used, and it looked very pretty and unusual! I don't know if it was out of nesseity, or just "one of those things", but it alwasy stuck with me....
